$5 Silver Proof Southern Sky Series Orion

The Royal Australian Mint has released their third domed shaped coin in the Southern Sky series, third coin in the Southern Sky series. Each coin is struck in 1 troy ounce of 99.9% silver to proof quality with a maximum mintage of 10,000 pieces.

The coin reverse show Orion, a constellation which is visible from both hemispheres of the Earth. It represents the mythological Greek hunter with some of the sky’s brightest stars. The domed shape and magnificent colour of this silver proof $5 coin set off the brilliance of Orion as if in a celestial sphere. A compass themed border surrounds the design, including navigational markers and coordinates.

The coin obverse show an effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, an Australian legal tender coin under the Australian Currency Act 1965.

The coin come with a specially designed Southern Sky Series Orion box and packaging, accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
